"We Gotta Make A Change..."
"It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive."
There's more to life than money. You can be "broke, busted, rusted" and still reach your success. Everyone stresses over money issues, and having too much is never one of them. America is so fuucking materialistic. We are the only country with no strong apprehension of character over image. We are filthy fuucking pigs. Never satisfied.
A seven year old African boy, dancing around a fire with white powder and warrior markings on his body. Every movement is fluid and a representation of his environment. THAT is rich. We have girls that starve themselves to fit size 0 pants. Cake on makeup and cover it up with extra large sungalsses. We are never satisfied with our own images. If only everyone realized each persons unique image in itself is beauty, our value of life would be magnified. Our way of life is NOT rich. We judge and judge, yet we cower from our true portraits. We ask for ipods and cellphones and never cherish honest time with families. Fuck. We FIGHT with family members! We FIGHT with those who share the same blood! A strong relationship with every member is given less value than a new car. We have no equivalence to the richness of other countries. From Ethiopia to Tibet. They might not have what we have but they truely value life.
We have no storytellers. We have no REAL. REAL love is rare...for we fall in love with what is FAKE. We are attracted to what we can only believe in. I, and only I, interpret love as "an attraction that makes me believe in my disbeliefs. An attraction that makes me question what is real." You can't fall in love with big breasts, because they are tangible. ( No Pun Intended ) You fall in love with the quickness that you respond to their texts and answer their calls. The excitement in being in their presence when future plans are created. With the fact that their happiness is the root of your happiness. You don't fall in love with what you can touch. Although you hold his/her hand, you feel in love with the energy exerted when palms touch. We have no more REAL.
We are never satisfied, we never have enough. We are the most glutonous and greedy country. Therefore we are the fattest yet richest ( $$ ). Rich with no meaning is like having a car with no engine. No. Betteryet, its like having a dog with no sense of loyalty. It will recognize you and bite you at times but still beg to be rubbed by you only when it wants. What's the point of having it?
Find your REAL. Find what you are REALLY passionate about. Find the REAL you. I can tell you where the REAL me is going to be in the next 10 years. Giving back to the REAL people in the Underserved Communities. That's REAL.
You didn't think I could explode like this.
Detonate and flow like this.
No longer a youth at this...
I speak the truth like this.

Express Yourself.
Urban Population. 200,000+ people.
Compton, Watts, Willowbrook, Lynwood Metropolitan area.
1.6 Million people.
1 Public Hospital.
1 fucking public hospital.
CLOSED.
Why?
Why Else?
Money.
It's hard to even estimate how many lives are affected by not having the King/Drew Hospital open. Life and Health should always be above money.
When it comes to helping those who need medical attention, the people who can't take care of themselves, money should never be an issue. NEVER!
I'm not really sure why it closed, but I know there is a law suit because the county of LA breeched the contract. Sued for $125 million buckies.
I don't know what is on the Mayor of LA's list, nor the Governors list of shit to do.
But the re-opening of this hospital needs to be a priority. My university is right across the street so I find myself wondering how they could let a hospital close.
If you're reading this, you are most likely a minority. And you live in an Underserved Community. What my university focuses on is giving back to the underserved community. It's not about making dolla's, dolla's, dolla's.
It is more important put ourselves first. When the world starts viewing everyone as a huge universal family, all of our problems will solve theirselves.
When you look in a waiting room of a hospital, you see worried faces.
" Idont give a fuck how much it costs, please, just help my son/daughter."
I've got to be proactive in helping to get this hospital re-opened as soon as possible.
" BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. "

Passionate People Go A Far Way.
There is nothing more important in life than having a passion. I can't tell you how important it is to dedicate every day to fulfilling your passion. Find one. I'm not talking about no..." I love to text message. Texting is my passion." Nah man. Find a true passion because once you become passionate about something, the value of your life is magnified by 10 times. Trust me. You see passionate people everyday. Just this week, we lost Bernie Mac. His passion was comedy and he was a legend. It's one thing to be funny and humorous but he dedicated his life to his one passion. You never saw Bernie Mac putting out a clothing line, or advertising alcohol, nothing. He just wanted to make people laugh. No greed for money or anything. Respect.
People grow up and realize "Okay. I need to find a good career and follow that. Good education to get good money." I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that mentality, but those are the people who's lives are very gray and drab. It's okay, get your money, boo-boo. Do yo thang.
It is best to choose a career where you can utilize your talents or work for what you are passionate about. There's no STOPPING you if you're following your passion.
I'm passionate about helping people and giving back so I chose to become a Pharmacist. Not for the money, but rather to help Underserved Communities. It's my passion.
"Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.”
"Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion.”
And the quote that I live by:
"The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.”
My favorite Passionate people:
Ben & Jerry
Dr.Dre
Bernie Mac

"Big Things Poppin'..."
You graduate high school and everything has changed. You gotta take care of your damn self now. Your actions affect your life even greater. At this age (18-20) your parents are tired of you. They are tired of your dirty clothes laying everywhere, tired of you eating up all the food, tired of you coming in the house late at night making noise, your friends don't take off their shoes when they come in the house, and you are the significant one that runs all the bills up. Your parents want to make you as successful as can be but you're so hardheaded that you argue back and don't listen to their words of wisdom. But the moment you need $5,$10,$15 you go STRAIGHT to them. They know what's best for you yet you go to your immature friends for advice and shit. You go to those who are doing nothing and have no plans to do anything. I'm trying to tell you that you should ONLY ASSOCIATE YOURSELVES WITH PEOPLE DOING THINGS AS BIG AS YOU ARE OR BIGGER. being 18, you can play the lotto, go to strip clubs, and drive unsupervised but that does not make you an adult. At all. "You're barely getting the Similac of your breath." I'm saying, get your STABLE income. Not a hustle, not a grind. Get your own roof, car and take care of yourself. Your parents love you no doubt but they want you to be more successful than them. Take your education further than they did.
I'm giving my friends ONE year to start making their moves. We graduated June 18th 2008 so by June 19th, 2009- if any of you are still at home, asking parents for money and borrowing their car, getting drunk at some stupid piece of shit house parties, getting high, watching MTV and all that-you won't even be a hommie of mine.

"It's Not Unusual..."
I hate it when people give "Love" a definition.
"Love is your souls recognition of its counterpart."
Love is this, love is that.
My definition of love is: LOVE IS THE GREATEST SECRET THAT ONE MUST DISCOVER THEMSELVES.
No two people in the world will have the same definition of love, maybe what's attractive, but not what love is. It's like a snowflake. This is a snowflake and that is a snowflake, but they aren't identical. You feel me?
I personally have been in love twice. I can sit here and tell you ALL the stupid, foolish, "simp", ridiculous shit I did while in love but that list will need its own blog and shit. Hahaa!
But that's what love does to us. That shit makes us do ANYTHING to make sure it is preserved.
Sometimes the feeling is not mutual, it is not reciprocated. Meaning you're in love with her/him and they aren't in love with you. It's hard but all you can do is pick up your bags, take the ticket and shake. Learn from it. It ain't the end of the world and the worst case scenario is not death.
I know thousands of people in my generation. And I only know of two people who exhibit love the best. Jason and Elaine ( BHS class of '05 ).
My poetry game is tight and it's not because I'm this...Super Poetry Magician or something. I'm a "good writer" because of how baaaad I was in love. And I try to make the reader actually feel how I felt about her.
Important To Remember:
> Speak about your feelings before it's too late.
> Do not fall in love with LOOKS.
> Do not ask your friends about what to do.
> It ain't the end of the world and the worst case scenario is not death.
> If you have to second guess or second try, it's not love.
> Love and respect yourself before you hand out your love like candy.

7 Planets.
I remember when I dreamt of you.
We swam to the bottom of every sea
Because each dream needed a space of infinity.
The distance killed me in reality
When I woke and you were planets beyond my symmetry.
I only wanted you and I tried with Herculean strength but
The miles of my heartbeat could not conquer the lost length
But I still wanted you. I wrote about you floating in my
heart on every wall in the world so passerby can fall in
Love with your name and feel my passionate words
Resonate within them.
I used to look beyond 7 Planets to find a beauty more
Immense than yours but my telescope could not relay
A more spectacular image than your bare body glowing
Like a beautiful orange moon.
The Sun at high noon wanted to be the core of the Earth
When I dreamt because we paraded across the sea floor
And our energy was untouchable...
A single, barren tree uprooted with no leaves cannot compare to me.
I have lost you, I have lost my Queen. I no longer have my
Radiant Beauty yet I remain dreaming of you and me in the sea.
We swam to the bottom of every sea
Because each dream needed a space of infinity.
The distance killed me in reality
When I woke and you were planets beyond my symmetry.

GIVE.
"We all expect blood to be there for us, but barely a fraction of those who can give do. Yet sooner or later, virtually all of us will face a time of great vulnerability in which we will need blood. And that time is all too often unexpected."
If you would like to give blood, there will be a blood drive at the Cerritos Library THIS THURSDAY, AUGUST 7th.
You can schedule an appointment at
From 12pm-6pm.

Drunk 'N Girls.
I have never seen the point to alcohol. Well, I mean I've never seen the point to getting drunk. It has always been... just flat out stupid to me. Everyone is aware of what happens once you pass your limit and yet they still get drunk. You get drunk, make an ass out of yourself, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach and diahrrea. The next morning there's the hangover- headaches and the "feel like shit feeling". What's the point? I think that those who feel they need to get drunk to have a good time need to really need to rethink their shit. I really have no respect for those (underage) who drink at all social events.
Many of my friends invite me to chill and I never really go because it seems LAUGHING is impossible without drinking alcohol.
I'm saying, we can hoop, skateboard, bowl, or just hit up the movies and it's goood, we don't need to get drunk!
It bothers me to see my friends (mostly girls) drinking. Not only is it fucking unattractive, but, what does it say about them?
"I'm not happy with life so I'm gonna get fucked up and see where that takes me..."
I'm trying to get all of you to stay away from drinking. Problems only double up with alcohol. Friends only get more distant, and it will eventually catch up to you.
YOU. DO. NOT. NEED. ALCOHOL.
